Postings: LSA Communications Studies
School/College
Literature, Science & the Arts
Department Name
LSA Communications Studies
Application Procedure
Required Materials: Completed application form, one letter of recommendation, a transcript (unofficial is acceptable as long as it bears the applicant's name - a transcript from Wolverine Access is not acceptable), copies of the evaluation summary sheets for all previous courses taught at the University of Michigan (where applicable), and a resume or CV.
Exception: Applicants who are new to the University of Michigan will need to submit a transcript from the college or university where they completed their most recent degree.
Submission of materials: Hard copies of the application, transcript, resume/cv, and teaching evaluation(s) should be delivered to the department in person or through campus mail. Letters of recommendation may be emailed to the department provided they come straight from the recommender (i.e., they may not be forwarded by the applicant).
Selection: Faculty may or may not contact applicants for an interview. The GSI Selection Committee works closely with the faculty to make hiring decisions. Final decisions and offers of employment are made by the Department Chair.
Notification: All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application. Initial contact will be made by email. Applicants offered positions in the department will receive additional information via the US Postal Service.
