The GSI application is located at http://www.lsa.umich.edu/physics/graduate/funding under the GSI/GSRA Appointments heading. The application requires transcripts of all colleges and universities attended and a resume. The application should be submitted to the Physics Student Services Office. The criteria for selecting GSIs will include the following: prior experience with a specific course (i.e., having taken the course, or an equivalent or related course; having been a GSI for the course, or an equivalent or related course), other training or experience which may be required and is explicit to the teaching goals/requirements of a specific course. Hiring decisions will be made by the Director of Student Services in consultation with the Graduate Chair and the faculty coordinators of specific courses. Required: Departmental GSI Training, English Proficiency, based on ELI, where applicable. Unsuccessful applications will be retained for consideration in the event that there are positions that will need to be filled after the initial deadline.
