Postings: LSA Romance Lang & Lit
School/College
Literature, Science & the Arts
Department Name
LSA Romance Lang & Lit
Application Procedure
Individual Romance languages have selection committees that review all applications and make hiring decisions based upon the needs of the Department and the enrollment in elementary language courses. In making decisions, the Committee considers competence to teach in particular courses (native or near-native fluency in a language); academic qualifications (prior college record and current academic record); and prior teaching performance (teaching evaluations and/or supervisor evaluations).
Doctoral students in Romance Languages receive priority consideration for open GSI positions. The Department may hire students from a variety of programs across the College and University, but graduate students in Romance Languages normally have priority over others. Graduate students who have previously taught in Romance Languages normally receive priority consideration as well.
