AgeWays Nonprofit Senior Services (also known as the Area Agency on Aging 1B – Southeast Michigan)
AgeWays Nonprofit Senior Services (also known as the Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) is part of a national network, and serves Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, and Washtenaw counties. They help people access the services and programs they need to remain living independently and with dignity in their own home or with family caregivers. They provide direct care programs for seniors as well as adults with disabilities, and support for many community programs. State of Michigan Statewide Search and Reports for Nursing Homes, Adult Foster Care and Homes for the Aged
Families can search for licensed, residential facilities throughout Michigan, including Nursing Homes and Adult Foster Care and Homes for the Aged in Michigan. These facilities care for the elderly and/or adults with disabilities. Families are encouraged to read (if posted online) or ask facilities to review licensing reports, including Inspections and possible Special Investigations, for any violations.
Medicare.gov Nursing Home (and other health services) Search and Compare
The Medicare.gov Compare site lists and rates Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing homes in the United States (national resource).
Disability Network
The Disability Network (serving Washtenaw, Monroe, and Livingston counties) provides comprehensive resources for individuals with disabilities.
MORC
MORC is a human services agency that coordinates long-term supports for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities and the elderly in southeast Michigan.
ABLE Accounts
Individuals and families can now contribute to ABLE accounts, which are tax-advantaged savings that can fund disability expenses.
