Using Career Development Services - Managers

The longer term goal for this web site is to provide a complete toolset to help managers guide their staff through the career. That said, there is already plenty of information to help you, as a manger, assist your staff.

  1. Check out the Staff page for information on how staff are being guided through the career development process.
  2. Use the Retention Toolkit website. This site offers excellent templates to enable you to have career conversations with your staff.
  3. Review the Performance Management web site. This site is geared towards managers and has some amazing information about the U of M Organizational Competencies and how to use them to help with staff performance.
  4. Become familiar with all of the tools and reference materials on this site. As your staff are looking through this site, it would be beneficial to be able to discuss these resources with them.
