Director: Ann DeMare

Bobbi Devault: Hi my name is Bobbi Devault I'm an Associate Teacher at UMCC.  I received my Bachelors’ in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University with an endorsement in Early childhood Education and have started taking classes towards my Masters in Early Childhood Education.

Ana Murray: Ana Murray has worked with the toddlers for three years at UMCC.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Family Life Education from Spring Arbor University and has experience and special interest with children who are coping with loss.  She has two sons at the University of Michigan and one daughter at Washtenaw Technical Middle College.

Jeannette Stover:  This is my 17th year at UMCC during which time I have taught with two year olds through five year olds.  I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree form Michigan and elementary certification. My special interests are in teaching children social skills and to appreciate the natural world.

Judy Collins: Judy Collins completed her undergraduate degree in Child Development and Teaching at Michigan State University.  She also has a M. A. in Education from the University of Michigan- Dearborn.  She works with toddlers and has two children of her own, an 11 year old daughter and a 5 year old son.

Deidre Wellwood: Hi. I’m Deidre Wellwood, better know as Dee. I have been a teacher at the Children’s Center since 1987. I have been an Associate Teacher, Teacher and Head Teacher. I have taught in all of the age groups, except for the very youngest. I have been a Kindergarten Teacher for 10 years. I attended Eastern Michigan University and earned my CDA credential in 1992. I have two children of my own. I like to spend my free time gardening, camping and working with art glass.

Peggy Wortmann: I have a B. A. Educ., with post secondary classes in ECD.  I have over seventeen years of experience working with infants through preschool age. Ten of these years were spent directing and operating a licensed family day care.  I enjoy telling children stories using hand puppets and flannel board props.

Julie Sayers:  I received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a Social Studies Major and an Early Childhood Education minor.  I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities.

Elisa Frye:  I grew up in Ann Arbor and attended the University of Michigan, where I received a BA in English and History.  Several years later I returned to school and completed a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and received a teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan University.  I have taught at the Children's Center since 1993.

Amy McCarley: I received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, as well as an early childhood endorsement from Eastern Michigan University.

Kathe Harrigan: Kathe Harrigan has taught at the Children’s Center for 26 years.  She has her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and early childhood certification.  She enjoys gardening.

Sabrina North: I am Sabrina North, Master Teacher at UMCC. I have a degree in education and a teaching certification from the state of Michigan.  I have been a teacher at the Children's Center since 1994 and enjoyed the opportunity to teach in the toddler, two, and three year old classes.  I have a specialized interest in children with special needs and autistic impairment. I am the mother of 3 young adult children and am a resident of Ann Arbor.

Joan Rehak: I grew up in Ann Arbor and received my Bachelor’s Degree from the UM with early childhood certification.  My Master’s degree is in Early Literacy.  I love reading and children’s books!  I have taught at UM Children’s Center since 1983 and currently teach kindergarten. 

Deb Goldberg:  I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the UM and have taught at the Children’s Center for 12 years. When I am away from the Children's Center, my three Whippets keep me very busy participating in dog shows.

Seth Brown:  I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the UM and Certification in Elementary Education from the State of Michigan.  I have worked at the Children’s Center for 8 years—3 years as a auxiliary service student worker and 5 years as a teacher.  I enjoy basketball.

Kumiko Ito Teitgen: Hello!  My name is Kumiko Ito-Teitgen.  This is my 7th year teaching at UMCC.  I attended Western Michigan University where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with Early Childhood Education, Math and Science, and Creative Arts minors.  I have a Michigan Teaching Certificate with an Early Childhood Endorsement and a Math and Science Endorsement.  I love cats and enjoy taking pictures, and I speak Japanese and English.
