eMploy – Helpful Hints
Job Requisitions and Postings
Okay, so you’ve figured out how to create a Job Requisition, modify the internal & external Posting panels and create the Source information so it will be published to the appropriate job postings website. But what happens after that? How are changes made? Can you repost it yourself? How can you correct an error? The following is reference guide to help answer all of those questions. If you don’t see the answer to your question, please contact your Employment Process Coordinator for assistance.
Identified Need: |
Who can help? |
How to do it: |
My position is currently posted and I want to extend the end date. |
You |
Simply create new & separate Source information, with dates that don’t overlap. Overlapping dates can cause two copies of the same position to be posted. Don’t delete or write over the old lines though or you’ll lose the historical information. |
My position is not currently posted and I want to re-post it. |
You |
Simply create new & separate Source information, with the new dates for the posting period. Don’t delete the old lines though or you’ll lose historical information. |
My position has been posted for the minimum required time and I have all the bidders I need, and don’t want my position posted any longer. |
Your EPC |
Call or email your Employment Process Coordinator (EPC) and ask to have your job removed from the jobs posting web sites. |
My unit decided not to fill this position and I need to cancel it. |
You |
Open your requisition and select the STATUS HISTORY option from the menu selections. Then click on the Orange “CANCEL” button. NOTE: You will not be able to “reopen” this job requisition number once it has been canceled. |
Oops! I made an error in my posting and it’s already posted on the web site. |
Your EPC |
Work with your EPC to get corrections made. There are specific guidelines on changing posting content that may require you to create a new requisition number. |
Why does my Source status say “posted”, but my job is not on the web site yet? |
Your EPC |
Once your Source information is submitted, the SOURCE status changes to “posted”. That means your job has been posted on your EPC desktop. Your EPC will give it a quick review, add prescreening questions (if required) and then publish it to the jobs web sites. NOTE: Jobs that are sourced before 2pm Monday – Friday, are usually posted that same day. |
