  1. What is your fax number?
  2. Most of our fax numbers are listed in the University of Michigan Staff Directory. You can also call any one of our offices to obtain a fax number for a specific office within UHR.
  3. Where are you located?
  4. Most UHR offices are located at the Wolverine Tower or the North Campus Administrative Complex, Suite 1100. We have a few offices located elsewhere on campus, so it's best to call before coming to visit us.
  5. What hours are your offices open?
  6. All offices within UHR are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  7. Where do I find out about unemployment compensation?
  8. Call the Unemployment Compensation Office at 734-764-9250.

  1. Where should I call for employment verification?
  2. Call the HR/Payroll Service Center at 734-615-2000 or toll free at 866-647-7657.
  1. How can I get a copy of the affirmative action statement?
  2. To obtain a copy of the statement, call us at 734-763-0235. We will also fax a copy of the statement to you, if you desire.

  6. You can view current openings and apply for regular employment online at the Careers at Michigan website. Instructions and FAQs are found on the site.

  8. UM job postings are available on the World Wide Web at http://www.umjobs.org.

  1. How do I review my personnel file?
  2. Contact one of the two offices listed below to make arrangements to review your folder. You will review your file at the UHR office; files cannot be removed.

  3. Where can I get a copy of a job description?
  4. Individual units maintain their own individual job descriptions. You can visit the Career Family Navigator for more information on job titles used within the University as part of the Career Family Classification System.
  1. Who should I contact with questions about leaves of absence?
  2. You may contact the HR/Payroll Service Center at 734-615-2000 or toll-free at 866-647-7657.
  3. How do I schedule a 2nd step grievance hearing?
  4. Call the Staff HR Services Office at 734-763-2387.

  5. Has my job title change/salary adjustment been processed?
  6. You can view current and future-dated appointment information on Wolverine Access. Choose "Employee Business" and login with your uniqname and UMICH (Kerberos) password.
  7. Who do I contact about filing a grievance?
  8. Your first step would be to contact one of the two Employee Relations Offices:

  12. Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Training is available 24-hours a day through an online tutorial.

  15. I have a question about my benefits; who should I call?

  17. I need to change my address/phone number. Who should I call?
  18. It is especially important that the University always have your current home and office addresses so you can receive mailings and other important information. If your home or office address changes, make sure you update your address with the University. You can:
    (1) Email your change of address to address.change@umich.edu
    (2) Call the HR/Payroll Service Center at 734-615-2000 or 1-866-647-7657 (toll free).
    (3) View and update your Current Address (home address) on Wolverine Access. Go to the Wolverine Access home page at http://wolverineaccess.umich.edu. Click on Human Resources and log in using your uniquename and Kerberos (UMICH) password. Then click on Personal Information, Address and Phone Number.
  19. Where can I call to obtain retirement information?
  20. For retirement information, call the HR/Payroll Service Center at 734-615-2000 or 1-866-647-7657 (toll free), or visit the Benefits Office Web site at http://www.umich.edu/~benefits/.
