Review Your Dental Plan Options

Three dental plan options are available to you through Delta Dental of Michigan.

  • Option 1 provides the least coverage. For most faculty, staff, and retirees, the university pays the full premium. You pay for any services that are not covered under Option 1.
  • Option 2 provides more coverage with a moderate employee contribution.
  • Option 3 provides the greatest coverage with the highest employee contribution and the lowest out-of-pocket costs.

Think About Future Dental Needs

  • Will your child have their first dental check up in 2024? Remember to enroll them in a dental plan during Open Enrollment.
  • Will you or your covered dependent(s) need a dental service next year? If you are enrolled in dental plan Option 1, consider enrolling in Option 2 or 3 for greater coverage.
  • Do you plan to retire next year? Make sure to enroll eligible dependents on your dental plan.

What’s New for 2024?

The dental plan offers a new esthetic restoration policy for 2024. Porcelain (white) crowns and bridges on back teeth will be covered at a higher amount. In addition, there are a number of enhanced dental benefits for members with an intellectual or developmental disability.
