Application Procedure

Students pick up GSI applications and term specific preference sheets in room 1111 Kraus Natural Science Building.  The general GSI application requires two letters of recommendation and transcripts of all colleges and universities attended.

The criteria for selecting GSIs will include the following:  merit, prior experiences with a specific course (i.e., having taken the course, or an equivalent or related course; having been a GSI for the course, or an equivalent or related course), other training or experience which may be required and is explicit to the teaching goals/requirements of a specific course.

Selections based on the above criteria will be made by the Biology Program staff in consultation with faculty assigned to a particular course, and the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies in the Department of MCDB.  Preferences for a specific course should be made at the time of application.  Unsuccessful applications will be retained for consideration in the event that there are positions that will need to be filled after the initial deadline.
