Application Procedure

GSI positions are used as recruiting tools for incoming students or are reserved for continuing students who have held the particular position in a prior term.  Should the occasion arise when neither of these circumstances exist, the position would be posted in the Department near the office of the Graduate Program Coordinator.  Appointments are made based on academic performance, expertise in the subject matter to be taught and, to some extent, financial need.  Selection is made by the Department's Financial Aid Committee together with the intructor of record for the course.
