Annual Halloween Concert
Offers Sights (and Sounds) to Behold
Conductors and musicians in costume,
skits and gags, and scary theme music — it's hard
to tell who's having more fun, the student players or
the audience! This once-free, once-small annual event
performed by the University Philharmonia and members
of the University Symphony Orchestra has become so popular,
tickets are sold and two performances are necessary.
Returning to Hill Auditorium each October, the Halloween
Concert is a must-see for music-lovers and fun-lovers
alike.
In the spirit of Michigan alumnus and playright Arthur Miller ('38), who believed the arts could have a transformative impact on American society, the University announced the much-anticipated opening of the Arthur Miller Theatre on March 29, 2007. The Arthur Miller Theatre, located within the Walgreen Drama Center on the University’s North Campus, is the only venue in the world named for the quintessential American playwright.
