    The UMatter Staff Recognition Program is a special program that acknowledges the tremendous efforts and contributions staff make to the University of Michigan. UMatter provides individual recognition for outstanding service and actions for more casual day-to-day performance.

    Any U-M regular staff member may be nominated for a UMatter award by anyone within the University community. The Nomination Forms are available online and around campus.

    Specific information must be submitted on the UMatter nomination form. The nominee's information is reviewed on a monthly basis for quality of submission. Ten UMatter awards may be awarded monthly. Repeat nominations are welcome, however awardees are limited to one nomination per year.

    Awardees receive a specially designed, gold UMatter pin. The pins are distributed to the supervisor of the awardee for presentation.
