Parenting
Parenting, it has been said, is the hardest job you’ll ever love. In today’s fast-paced society, many families have dual earners who are both struggling to balance work and family. Single parents often are doing what amounts to three jobs—mom, dad, and employee.
Whether you are expecting, adopting, or already a parent, the WLRC can help you negotiate your way through some of the parenting dilemmas. We can help link you up with information on:
- Expectant parents
- Adoption and foster care
- Lactation resources
- Leave of absence information
- Childcare referrals - Contact Keisha Vereen: Child Care Referral Specialist, 734-936-8677
- Additional parenting resources
In this section, you will find a list of local activities to do with your children, a section on child development and health, and a list of web resources that includes a section just for dads.
At the Work/Life Resource Center we also maintain a library of parenting books that are available to browse through. Topics include working parents, single parents, teen issues, and work/life balance. Many of these books are listed here on our website as well.
We are here to make your job as a parent a bit easier. Please call on us if we can be of help. Happy parenting!
